The spring is hand wound stainless steel for MAX tension. This tensioner is used to keep the chain tight automatically which avoids chain slap which can cause drive issues as well as damage to fenders and frames.
The "Bolt on" and "Weld On" tensioners can be placed in virtually any location in your drive line.
This item is competely universal to all makes and models. The single post version if for those of you who have serious clearance problems and could fit a standard tensioner in your setup
